director: dario argentoi love the fact that foreign horror movies, or horror movies made by a foreign director, creep me out just a lil more than the average american horror movie.
Suspiria is definitely scary now, but i'm just trying to imagine how creepy it was for it's time. there are some intense scenes in this movie and i love how everything culminates to making the scenes so scary.
music is essential for horror movies and i love how surreal the soundtrack is in this movie, done completely by an italian progressive rock band named "Goblin" whose done music for various Argento films as well.
but with all the music, blood/gore, supernatural witch elements aside...what i love most about this movie are the colors and way this classic was shot.
bright neon colors and lavish backgrounds build the spooky atmosphere and make it so artsy as well. it's like watching a surreal painting slowly change colors and turn into a nightmare!
this is a truly one of my favorite horror movies of all time.
